FRIDAY 2/20- 6-hr Morning Workshop for Beginner to Advanced Students


Description

Level: Beginner to Advanced Instructor: Ginger Oglesby * Supplies Not Included (see supply list below) Bring your own lunch (half hr break) Loosen up and expand your creative process. Would you like to paint with more freedom or feeling? Then this workshop is for you. We will explore movement in abstract paintings by using line, shape, value, color and other elements of art to create a big and bold expressive abstract composition. By using a variety of mark making techniques and expressive drawing, creates artwork that communicates memories, ideas and emotions. The class will include demonstrations on drawing and painting intuitively and compositions that will create boldness in a painting. We will practice skill building exercises using your unique marks and automatic drawing. ---------------------------------------------- * * * * * * SUPPLY LIST * * * * * * ---------------------------------------------- Acrylic paint - warm and cool colors, black, white and any colors you want to use. A variety of mark making tools - pencils, charcoal, colored pencils, acrylic markers, artist crayons, etc. Matte Medium *Brushes varying sizes (large inexpensive brush from a dollar or hardware store would be nice) *Palette knife *Other implements you like to use in painting * large canvas or board. Example: 24 x 36, 24x24, 30x40,36x36 *Container for water  *Spray bottle *Paper towels and/or rags *Palette (can be freezer paper) *Painters tape *Cardboard that will hold a sheet of paper that is 30x22 ( paper provided by instructor) *Anything else you would like to bring  *Suggestion: Take a trip to a dollar store and find inexpensive things that can make marks on the canvas. Kitchen department has interesting things. * Bring a lunch please as we will have a discussion during this time. Questions? Cancellation Policy

*NEW Pet Policy: Many of you are familiar with the friendly studio pets accompanying their owners who work at the ArtFarm. As our studio frequently has pets and children present, ALL pets entering the studio must be both animal and child friendly. All class bookings need to be done on our website, even if you plan to pay in person. We accept all major credit cards and PayPal online. Payments: In-person credit card sales will no longer be accepted for classes so the teacher can focus on getting the students ready. The only in-person payments will be cash/check, but the online pre-registration will still need to be done, and we ask that you write a message letting us know the planned payment method. Cancellations & Refunds: Any course that doesn’t meet a minimum of 4 prepaid students 48hrs before the start will likely be canceled. We will notify students via email and text. Prepaid registrations may be shifted to another upcoming course or refunded. If you miss one of the scheduled classes, contact your teacher directly to schedule the makeup day. No refunds will be issued for registration cancellations within 4 business days of the first class, or for any course where 1 or more classes were attended.
