Creating Abstract Art with Alcohol Ink- A Three Week Multilevel Course
Description
Level: Multilevel Instructor: Korinne Carpino Supplies Included Join Korinne Carpino, Instructor/Contributor to the globally known Alcohol Ink Art Society to explore painting with Alcohol Inks. Korinne has been painting with alcohol inks for 14 years and has 10 years of instruction experience with this medium. The ink is an acid-free, vividly colored, translucent alcohol based dye that is fast drying and allows for a freeness in painting as you learn to follow the organic flow of the inks. The inks remain fluid until the alcohol evaporates. The inks are used on synthetic, non porous surfaces including paper. Learn basic color theory and how to manipulate the inks with isopropyl alcohol and various tools such as: ink applicator, blending pen, key card, coffee stirrer, ink blower, paint brushes and more. Create intuitive abstract landscape, floral and underwater scenes during this course. You will be able to use your colors of choice from those provided by the instructor. Instructor provides all supplies. Supply Fee $30.00 cash payable to the instructor at the first session. Session 1. September 18, 2024 Exploration and Landscape Abstract Painting Learn how to use various tools to manipulate the inks to create a an abstract landscape painting. After an exploration exercise, create a 5”x7” painting. Your painting will be matted in an acid-free white mat ready for presentation. Session 2. September 25, 2024 Fluid Florals Building on the techniques learned in Session 1, concentrate on using the ink blower tool to create a lovely abstract floral. Create one or more 5”x7” paintings during this session. Your favorite will be matted in an acid-free white mat ready for presentation. Session 3: October 2, 2024 Fluid and “Dry Palette”Underwater Abstract Building on techniques learned in previous session, learn to use both a fluid and “dry palette” of ink to create an abstract underwater scene. We will work on 5”x7” paper. Create 1 or more paintings during the session. Your favorite painting will be matted in an acid-free white mat ready for presentation. Cancellation Policy
class bookings need to be done on our website, even if you plan to pay in person. We accept all major credit cards and PayPal online. Payments: In-person credit card sales will no longer be accepted for classes so the teacher can focus on getting the students ready. The only in-person payments will be cash/check, but the online pre-registration will still need to be done, and we ask that you write a message letting us know the planned payment method. Cancellations & Refunds: Any course that doesn’t meet a minimum of 4 prepaid students 48hrs before the start will likely be canceled. We will notify students via email and text. Prepaid registrations may be shifted to another upcoming course or refunded. If you miss one of the scheduled classes, contact your teacher directly to schedule the makeup day. No refunds will be issued for registration cancellations within 4 business days of the first class, or for any course where 1 or more classes were attended.
