John Patrick was born in New York City.
As a child, he immersed himself in the natural world.
During his teenage years, he developed an interest in nature and wildlife. In the early nineteen-eighties, he participated in an internship program at the New York Zoological Society's Bronx campus. Following his internship, he discovered fishing and the maritime world, and was encouraged to obtain a one-hundred-ton Captain's license.
Currently, John Patrick is an Airboat eco-tour guide with Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures, touring Central Florida's Everglades, he continues to fuel his passion for wildlife and photography. Through his wildlife photography, he captures the beauty that nature has to offer and shares it with everyone. From 2018 to 2025, his photography has earned him numerous accolades in various photo contests throughout Florida.
